Even though each project has its own requirements and an ADLS solution must be tailored to the unique local specifications, the Senture project framework provides a proven and reliable project foundation. Our project workflow has been developed based on thousands of wind turbine upgrades and hundreds of ADLS installations, allowing us to guide you through every step of your project
The exemplary project workflow is designed to give you an idea of the individual steps involved in implementing a demand-driven obstruction lighting system.
Initial enquiry
It all starts with the first step: use the simple enquiry form on this website and tell us about your needs. Whether it’s radar-based ADLS, transponder-based ADLS, or upgrading the obstruction lights of your wind turbine: we have the experts and the experience.
Preliminary site assessment and scoping
To understand how we can help you best, we engage in discussions with you to learn the unique requirements of your wind farm.
We then conduct a free-of-charge analyses to capture all key aspects of your wind farm, from terrain features and environmental factors to technical boundaries and system integration requirements.
Line-of-Sight analysis
The line-of-sight analysis forms the basis for the correct design of the ADLS system as well as for our technical and commercial proposal. Using high-resolution topographic maps, we determine in this step the optimal number and positioning of radars for reliable and economical operation. Specifically, local geography, accessibility of potential sites, and the optimal height of radar towers are considered in this analysis.
Firm quotation
We understand that transparency and planning security are important factors. Therefore, based on the ADLS concept and scope of services agreed upon with you, we provide you with a detailed and binding offer.
Upgrade of installed base (optional)
While new wind turbines are typically delivered ADLS-ready, older existing installations may require upgrading of the beaconing systems to enable demand-based activation of obstacle lights. We collaborate closely with several leading manufacturers of beaconing systems and offer you all necessary retrofit solutions from a single source.
Installation of ADLS System
The most crucial step in the ADLS retrofitting process is the technical and mechanical installation on-site. Based on a project design tailored to your needs, we offer to handle the entire planning and execution, including on-site assembly, upon request. The components of our modular system seamlessly integrate with each other, ensuring that the assembly process is completed in a short amount of time.
Testing and approval
Thorough examination and documentation of the functionality of the radar-based Senture ADLS are prerequisites for smooth approval by local aviation authorities. Based on a stringent test flight protocol, our team extensively surveys the wind farm, ensuring the reliable detection of aircraft and the compliant activation of warning lights. The examination is conducted in accordance with requirements outlined by ICAO, FFA, or local regulations.
Commissioning of ADLS System
Upon receipt of the final commissioning approval from local aviation authorities, we will activate the ADLS and take over control of the lighting systems. From this moment forward, we monitor the system’s functionality and performance using our remote monitoring tools. As the operator, you’ll have access to key operational parameters at any time through our user-friendly online platform.
